I picked this up in shrink today for €16 and it’s a nice set. The vinyl would be nice too for the right price!

I have always found the digital form of this to be lacking. Does this version add much to the recording?

Gotta say my copy plays beautifully. Side J was laden with fingerprints which results with many pops but otherwise great pressing.

I found a record store day version from a few years back and paid double than what this set is going for but according to the reviews I think I’ll stick with the version I have.

Listen to it disc 1 thru 5 without knowing the labels are flipped. 🤩

At least one of my discs has the labels reversed, which is made extra confusing by the auto-coupling. The G/J vinyl is swapped so the side labeled G is actually side J and vice versa.

But, love this thing. And wish LCD would do yet another reunion tour. What a special thing to have.

I love this record! Seriously sounds much deeper than the digital version. I feel it rise up in my body and i move with it. Incredible performance and beautiful attention to detail on this master and pressing. Some noise here and there but nothing that distracted from the experience. We danced for a couple hours unplanned at midnight let's night. Play it loud!!

Decent press, although the audio level is a little on the low side. Outer box is also a little too tight which makes getting the sleeves back in a bit of a chore.

Also worth noting that it's auto-coupled i.e. set up to be cued up on two separate turntables. As a result if you only have a single turntable (like most of us) you'll be needing to swap the disc at the end of each side, rather than just flipping it over. It's a bit of a pain but also given that James Murphy is a well-known lover of vinyl and the 70s (when auto-coupled releases were more common) it kinda makes sense as an artistic choice, if no necessarily a practical one.

Obviously the music itself is fantastic - a pretty comprehensive set, although obviously a little biased towards tracks from Sound Of Silver and This Is Happening. The performances are incredible, although IMO the actual live sound is a little flabby - probably a consequence of the size of a venue like MSG, as I saw LCD Soundsystem at a far smaller venue around a year prior to this being recorded on their last "proper" tour and their sound was a lot punchier.

In all I'd say this is well worth picking up - not only as a great live album by a great band, but also as a document of one of the most special, heartfelt concerts ever committed to tape. It's not perfect, but if anything that's just LCD all over. We forgive them their indulgences and their occasional missteps because they're real, and because of the unbridled joy that radiates off of everything they do.
