Good bit of pops on some quieter songs. My record is also slightly warped. Vinyl looked far from pristine when opening. Still sounds good though

Edited one year agoI don’t know about some of the complaints on here. My copy is one of the quietest pressings in my collection. I do agree that the record inner sleeve is rough and it honestly is a pretty tight fit. However, I store all my records in poly lined inner sleeves. Since the cardboard inner sleeve they provide on this one is more rigid than most, I can actually slide in my poly lined inner sleeve inside of it and it fits perfectly inside the larger record sleeve. So this is not an issue for me. This pressing sounds really good. No complaints at all.

Edited one year agoWould like to echo many of the comments below that I (apparently stupidly) ignored and/or decided to roll the dice on. I bought mine from the Beach House Bandcamp and just got it in the mail. The vinyl looks terrible. As said below, mine has scratches going in every direction. The vinyl almost looks greasy. No way is it going on my turntable without a heavy cleaning but not even sure if I want to. Can you return stuff on Bandcamp? I will say I've been happy with all my other Beach House vinyl- maybe I lucked out the other times, but this was for whatever reason the only album of theirs I was missing on vinyl. Really can't believe the apparent total lack of quality control. A perfect example that a sealed record doesn't equal a "mint record". Learn from my mistake and buy a used/open one that someone has visually graded. Caveat emptor.

VERY rough inner sleeve. I bought the record sealed at a record store and it was covered with surface scratches.
I would suggest buying an earlier pressing. Another option would be to check the condition before buying. -
Picked my copy up at B&N and could not be happier. It sounds fantastic with no surface noise. Its dead quiet and a pleasure to listen to. I am not hearing the compression that some others are at all, nor do I feel the album has a overwhelming "Digital" sound. I must have hit the lottery with this one but my copy sounds like all my other Beach House records, very "airy" and "open". The music just fills the room and I am using a very modest setup:
Sony PS X-500 w/ a Denon DL-103
iFi Zen Phono
Yamaha A-S500

Very disappointing vinyl. Beach House is one of my favorite band and so far all the vinyl I bought from them are bad. Visually all my Beach House vinyl, including this one, arrived looking like they are VG+ at best even when they are supposed to be brand new. I think this one was actually dropped on a dirty floor then wipe off with a dirty rag. Scruff marks going in all directions. Sonic wise, sounding very compressed and thin, lack any separation and definition. No sparkle whatsoever. The vinyl itself sounds very low grade and noisy, constant popping throughout record. Absolute waste of money in my opinion. It’s really disappointing as I have not been satisfied by any of their records and will probably not buy another vinyl from them.
