Edited one year agoThis sounds amazing. My fave Beach House pressing in my collection so far. I own Depression Cherry and Bloom and this one is my favourite sounding one.

As everyone else has said, odd choice to split the album on 2LP but have it at 33rpm. Would have preferred either more tracks on each side, or 45rpm. Still, this looks and sounds good.

The choice to put this on a 2LP at 33 rpm was certainly odd, considering it could’ve fit one one disc or a 2LP with D side etching or maybe 45rpm like devotion and bloom but still this pressing sounds lovely, super dynamic and warm and rich. It almost has an analog sound to it. Something important to note is that when I spun my copy for the first time, it sounded really fuzzy and distorted (especially on silver soul) but the next time I spun it this morning it sounded perfectly fine. I don’t know if it’s my copy or all pressings are like that or if it’s a problem with my setup but either way it sounds absolutely majestic now. And aside from one REALLY loud pop in Better Times the background is very quiet with minimal surface noise and the discs aren’t perfectly flat but I wouldn’t consider them warped either. The packaging pretty cool, it’s made of thick sturdy material and I love the insert. And the gatefold is really pretty. I also think the retro pink and blue labels on the discs are adorable. Very happy with this pressing. One of the best sounding records I own.

so happy to finally have a copy of this album. it sounds amazing, but perhaps it could have been cut at 45 rpm. a double LP of 10 songs at 33rpm seems a little strange to me but its no big deal. hopefully bloom gets a reissue and starts popping up in stores.

These are beginning to show-up at retailers for MSRP. For those of you wanting to snag one keep an eye out! Big laugh at ppl trying to scalp already.
