Can confirm what others have said about the quality of the pressing: it sounds flat and compressed, almost like it was mastered from a low quality mp3 file. Lots of pops and surface noise - even after a good cleaning - most likely because you have to bump up the volume excessively just to play the record at a normal level. Erykah still shines through though, because Erykah. I’m not mad, just disappointed.
-
this pressing is way too quiet to really pull out and DJ at a party. which defeats the purpose of the music.

Edited 2 years agoSound quality is total GARBAGE on 2003 pressing I got! I'm so mad!! Damn you motown!
-
Unbelievably poor quality. Honestly, you’re better off streaming it on YouTube and playing it through your phone speakers.
-
I keep hearing Loose Ends when I listen to Bump It. I think they should be given credit

Upon unpacking, my record was static, dirty and I spotted a few small dents towards the inner grooves. Fortunately, those were not really audible after cleaning the record. My record isn't warped either. It's not an audiophile pressing, but the sound is certainly good overall.

This is one of my all time favorite albums, unfortunately this is a bad pressing. I have returned it twice to my record store in hopes that I just got a bad copy. But the issue is indeed the pressing. The audio is very low. As the record goes on, Erykah’s vocals sound muffled. Super disappointed. I’m not going to list this album as part of my collection because I don’t feel like it is. It’s just a record I own.

I agree with what others have said about this pressing: volume is a bit low, decent amount of surface noise. Not impressed. The music, on the other hand, is slamming.
-
this is a great album but not really impressed with this pressing... level is very low and there is also some background noise... shame really
-
I have purchased this album twice. Both times the album has been warped and unplayable. There is surface noise on the last 2 tracks on both sides. I am in search of a copy that is not warped at least.
