Grabbed on Amazon for 24€. My copy sounds really good, rich and warm.

I don’t have the purple one, but my copy is also extremely quiet and requires the volume and EQ to be adjusted to sound good. It sounds good to me once adjusted but it’s definitely a sub-par pressing, which was probably to be expected as I got it at a local record store for $22. Great album though

Have to echo the other comments on this version. The sticker on the shrink wrap (from the record store, presumably) said Purple Vinyl. Quite a bit quieter than most of my other records. Even when you juice the volume, the highs still sound cut off.

Can confirm what others have said about the quality of the pressing: it sounds flat and compressed, almost like it was mastered from a low quality mp3 file. Lots of pops and surface noise - even after a good cleaning - most likely because you have to bump up the volume excessively just to play the record at a normal level. Erykah still shines through though, because Erykah. I’m not mad, just disappointed.

this pressing is way too quiet to really pull out and DJ at a party. which defeats the purpose of the music.

God, how I love this album. Highly recommended pressing of an essential record! Light years better than the original. Vacuum cleaned before playing, vinyl is virtually silent. Mastering is open and airy at the high end, and muscular at the low. Buy it now. Bust those meters, shake your tweeters!

This sounds horrible. I thought there was something wrong with my player or preamp until I put on another record. Do not buy.
