Very surprised at the reviews here. I've had multiple Stiff and Columbia LPs of this problematic recording. I usually find MoFi remasters too "audiophile" at the expense of punch and coherence. But this one needs all the eq'd presence as they can give because otherwise it's dead in the mids. The MoFi is the best LP so far. Would love to hear what Bernie Grundman could do.

Sounds great on my Planar 6! Quiet vinyl. #3586. Got it for $25 NM. Can’t complain.

I regret picking this one up. As others have noted, poor mastering and extremely low volume. I own several UK and US 1977 pressings of MAIT and prefer most of them to this. Absolutely avoid.

Poor mastering, nowhere as good as the original.
I have many MoFi Costello lps but this one is very badly done.

I couldn't hear it without turning the volume up all the way. Avoid.

I always thought that Elvis Costello’s first album was badly recorded. But it is this pressing that sounds so bad. I bought an early UK version and what a great sounding album. Don’t buy this record! I got my UK version for under $30.

Very disappointed with the mastering. It’s mastered way too low and with little dynamics. The only good thing is the vinyl is flat and pretty quiet. My UK and Japanese pressings absolutely smoke this out.
