Amazing! Excellent funk album and a nice clean pressing as well. Nice to have an audiophile pressing of this one! Wide stage, rich and full sounding. Really detailed, and the bass is super tight and punchy. Speakers Corner always does a great job and with Kevin Gray at the helm, of course it's stellar! Get it wile you can. -
Edited 2 years agoThis repress was probably manufactured by Rhino Records between the early 2000’s and 2005 from what I recall of the store that I bought it from and that sadly was closed by 2006. Clean pressing. There is almost no noise BUT it really lacks bass frequencies on some tracks. Is it a mastering choice ?
I compared it to an earlier pressing and I wondered where why the bass was so behind on the « Four Play » first bars. Plus the oversaturated colours of the inserts do not pay honor to this awesome piece of music. I am a bit surprised by Rhino Records, they usually do a quite good job… -
First off.... WHAT A RECORD!
Hip Hop heads will hear many a sample, 70s funk became many a hip hop classic track.
Speakers Corner... such a brilliant label... pressed to perfection and with huge sound i cant give this reissue anything other than 10/10.

Got my hands on this one a couple of weeks ago. I have another remastring, its not even close to the sound of this one. Have not listen to the original, but dont think it cand sound any betyer than this one. The drums and base are really deap, and totally silent between the tracks!
