Tiamat – Wildhoney

Well, the question is quite simple to those who own it - how does it sound and what the pressing is?

Lp is nice heavyweight 180g and sounds great. My only complaint is the jacket is incredibly flimsy. Very cheaply made but from what I understand it was because of a long wait to have the original gatefold jacket and this was the only option to have it pressed quickly so he just did it. Its not too big of deal, atleast the vinyl isnt flimsy and it sounds great. Thats all that truly matters.

One of my favorite metal albums. Poignant and longing, with a decidedly mysterious atmosphere. The lyrics are almost incomprehensibly mumbled in a depressive sigh. Vocals in metal are either a selling point or deal breaker for me, and these are good.

This is overlayed across twinkling synthesizer, angelic leads and choirs of what are presumably celestial beings, as most of the tracks feature a galactic theme.

Occassional clean guitar picks or a random bit of sudden crushing distortion will stir the attention to the change of a track, but for the large they seamlessly flow together as one mellow yet heavy tapestry of glowing golden silk.

Really phenomenal stuff, progressive and almost ambient.

A stunning pressing. Superb sound quality, and not a single pop, tick or crackle on my copy. It's also one of the best looking records in my collection, a beautiful colour combination that matches the artwork perfectly.

Aside from this being an audiophile release (180 g) like all 2016 versions, it's a very poor edition. It only includes a single lyric sheet insert, unlike the 2014 edition that is packaged in a heavy cardboard Gatefold sleeve, has a 12-pages booklet with lyrics and interviews and includes a poster. Shame on Century Media.

It can be good, only for those, who never listening original record. It better then cd, but vs the first edition, the sound is poor, and look like cd.

Is the year really correct? It clearly says 2015 on the back cover.
My copy is on black vinyl and has Century Media's UK address, so it is not the US press from 2015.

Amazing material quality, beautiful LP coloring, very inclusive package with a booklet, poster and printed inner sleeve, and sounds incredible. No surface noise, no defects, a really high quality release.
