Mike Oldfield – Tubular Bells

Simply a must have, this can be easy found in bargain buckets heavily cained for a few quid.

This version sounds amazing, even with a few crackles and faint pops from being abused.

Highly Recommend.

There's a clown listing a sealed copy of this which I bought -- when I asked him to confirm that it's laminated both sides and bears the Notting Hill Gate address he cancelled the sale. Now he's relisted it again as the same release and dropped the price by 1/3 so clearly knows it's a reissue but doesn't care.

Beware buying such a copy from any seller whose ID ends '-15'. You have been warned!

Compared to an early Cinram #P9, this has been manipulated to sound more dynamic by changing the timing on one channel and blending the mix toward the centre. Poor.

Great pressings but labels reversed here too! Both discs flat and near silent throughout after a clean. The 2009 mix is an interesting take. Its quite tonally different from the original. Much more lower middy and bloomy of bottom. Its not bad but i have to say the original mix is best and it sounds great here!

My copy sounds better than i expected in mastering but also disappoints with more than ideal loud tics even after ultrasonic cleaning. A shame really as the vinyl looks lovely and is dead flat and bang on centre. GZ Media certainly CAN produce excellent heavy coloured vinyl but they all too often dont and they didnt here it seems.

the quality of this pressing is amazing, this is a must for every collector, I'm very happy with this vinyl.

Just played this for the first time in a gazillion years, it has not aged well...

Just got my copy. I guess I was lucky because mine sounds great. Quiet vinyl too which is a must for this album. I also have the original UK version which is a bit noisy, but the audio is great too. I like this 50th better just for the quiet vinyl.
UPDATE: Been listening to this a few days and it is just fantastic. Miles Showell is my favorite Lacquer cutter guy. All the pressings that I have of his is just amazing.
