Mix is a bit odd; bass forward, mids low, and vocals should be clearer, but it still works. Noise floor isn't as quiet as desired after lengthy ultrasonic cycles, but the crackle (no pops) gives the music a vintage context which eases the commercial sheen a bit.

One of my favourite sountracks by one of my favourite movies ever. The mixing sounds a little too cinematic-ish but it cannot be different. Great sounds, great singers and composition.
-
Incredible sounding record with great original music. I'm not usually a musicals kind of dude, nor am I a jazz guy, however the songs are so well written and performed here it's hard not to fall in love with it. My personal highlights would be 'Someone in the crowd', 'City of stars', 'Audition' & 'Epilogue' - simply incredible pieces of music. On top of all this, the blue vinyl is beautiful.

Some fantastic tracks. This blue vinyl pressing has a little postecho issue but it does not compromise the audio experience.
-
Very good pressing actually (just listen to "Start a fire" and you'll be done). Blue vinyl is nice but should have been 180g (too fragile : my copy is veiled). And a big pop on track 5 of side 2 (anyone else ?).
Worth having anyway. -
My blue vinyl copy sounds great, no issues with noise / echo / etc as others have reported. But the end of track 5 on side 2, the audition song, seems to have been clipped off. Emma Stone pauses and is about to sing "....again", and it just cuts off abruptly. Don't know if the digital version does this as the included coupon won't work because I'm not in the US.....but apart from that I'm very happy, having expected a terrible sounding record from all the problems reported below....guess I got lucky!

Edited 8 years agoI'm happy with my copy. Yes there are some pops and clicks here and there but I do not buy records to pick apart what is wrong with them sonically. Record pressing is a dead art anyway unless you are a ka-zillion dollar band like the beatles with millions of dollars to manufacture a perfect sounding record.

Ok I got this in blue vinyl but idk if it's just my setup, I find that there's a noticeable surface noise on this especially on louder parts of the tracks...I literally stood up and said WTF and went to clean it, stylus and all but THE NOISE IS STILL THERE. I really love this movie and soundtrack but I have mixed feelings about this record. I would love to know if the black vinyl is better !
