Not feeling this pressing at all for reasons other than surface noise. For an album that relies so heavily on dynamics, those are flattened and muted in my copy. Disappointing for such a classic album that could really shine with a solid pressing.

There's definitely surface noise, but it's not really distracting on my copy. Most noticeable on Side A and C, but even then I couldn't notice it over the music unless it was a quiet part. Aside from that, the music sounds pretty good.
I'm sure there are better pressings out there, but this one is more than listenable. -
I thought the copy I got was just poorly taken care of, but after reading the reviews, I am also getting really loud noise on side A especially, the other ones aren't as bad. I gave the record a good wash and the noise is still there. -
There is just too much surface noise on sides A and D for a $26 dollar record. I'm contemplating getting a refund but it is such a great album by brand new.

Is there a large difference between the 3099-1 / MOVLP 180gram versions? Which one is better?

Edited 8 years agoI have two copies that I purchased new. BOTH have an insane amount of surface noise. I thought it may just be the copy I had, but then I bought the second copy only to encounter the same insane amount fo noise. Wet washes, carbon fiber brushes, new stylus...nothing helped. Just an awful pressing in my experience. -
Edited 8 years agoAlthough the Catalog, Barcode, and Matrix/Runout numbers match the 2010 pressing, this is a 2016 reissue on Black Vinyl. I have confirmed this information with ShopRadioCast from whom I pre-ordered this title on January 9, 2016 and it shipped on March 16, 2016. I was told that the label (Triple Crown) used old jackets/vinyl that they had on hand for this reissue, thus the matching numbers.
