I have the 88697195121 version, sounds great. Very quiet and great clarity/separation, though bass might be a little lacking.

Edited one year agoI got the MOVLP567 etching and this copy sounds amazing. Real worth it for the price. I also got the misprint “2LP pressed on 180-gram audiophile vinyl” on the hype sticker. Adds to the charm 🙂.

OK soooooo. AzraeL804 is correct. There are two different versions that have the exact same bar code. Lucky for you, I have BOTH versions. After A/B the living shit out of them (with headphones), I can say that I like the 88697195121 version better than the MOV version. Here's why.
First off Bass. The MOV version has bloatier bass. To my ears, it makes it feel less balanced and tends to make the details take a slight hit. I could hear sharper detail on the 8697195121 version. The MOV version's bass is more prominent, but it doesn't hit as hard.
Second, stereo separation. The panning from left to right sounded not only better in clarity, but did a better job at creating the effect. I felt more immersed in the cool "tricks" that are tiny details
Third. I ultrasonic clean everything I buy before playing. The 88697195121 version is dead quiet. The MOV version is quiet, but not like the 88697195121 version.
Add all of these things up, and although I can't confirm the source, the 88697195121 is the one to beat. I always trust my ears over "remastered from the analog tapes blah blah blah" For all we know, it was remastered from the tapes, cut to digital, and then cut to vinyl. It doesn't mention AAA anywhere, and no company es that up if they did it that way.
Either way, you will get a great sounding record, but those bummed they might not have the MOV version should be very happy.
I listened on a Rega P10 with an Apheta 3 cartridge for anyone wondering. The combo is usually very true to the source and any coloration or added bass is in the grooves. -
Picked up a new sealed copy at my local record store. Barcode on back matches this entry. Runout has the 2008 barcode (88697195121) as well as 2 etchings I can't find anywhere. No hype sticker and even more odd, MGMT is not printed on the front, just the picture. The store had several copies, should this be a new entry?

My copy is a bit warped, but it sounds very good. Super quiet between tracks, warm and bassy. One of the best albums of the 21st century in my opinion.

This is the best version to get, from an audio and quality perspective. It's cheap and doesn't have any limited edition tax. Yet, it's the exact same cut and pressing as the MOV/RSD editions of the same year; (literally in the deadwax MOVLP). And pressed at Record Industry as well.
If you just want a clean, standard copy of this album, look no further. -
The warm style of this electronic music, paired with the warm sound of vinyl as a medium, leaves you with an album that almost literally wraps a heavy blanket around you and hands you a mug of tea. Beautiful, especially the last 3 tracks of side A.
