Edited one year agoNow this is how to sell records without selling out. Immaculate soul, funk and disco inflected tracks that have musical chops and sophisticated grooves that you'd expect from one of the great jazz guitarists. The title track reminds me of Al Jarreau's finest moments. Benson shows great vocal dexterity from playful scats to sensuous honey-dipped soul numbers. The production is delivered by the very best - Quincy Jones and with songwriter Rod Temperton on the case this is an album that delivers on its all-star promise. -
In 1985, this album, was slated for a special audiophile release on MFSL. Test pressings exist, but the release was cancelled for unknown reasons.
This has been documented by the owner of the record store, "The In Groove", in Phoenix, AZ. -
A unique album ing the talents of the best Quincy Jones team -Bruce Sweiden, Rod Temperton, Patti Austin, etc..- to make a George Benson in one of his best moments shine like the star he is.
More than aging well, some songs are becoming timeless. -
