Edited one month agoThis is the first album I ever bought as a kid around 1982 when I was 12 years old. After getting back into vinyl recently, I checked out my old copy after digging it out of the basement storage and the record was totally scratched up and trashed haha, stupid kid!. I threw out the record and kept the cover to display in my bar but forgot to check the runouts. Did not realize this was an RL cut. I did recently buy the red Walmart reissue version which sounded great but I still wanted the original. Finally found this one in excellent shape with the RL in the runout for a good price that I think is the same as my original and boy oh boy does it ever sound so good. So lovely and dynamic. The reissue wasn’t that far off but a little more compressed. So glad to have this back! The cover jacket was a little worse off than my original cover I kept on display so I switched them and now I feel like I have my original album back.

Edited one year agoBought a near NM/VG+ copy for 39 CAD from an independent seller, which put a big smile on my face! Awesome pressing, almost zero noise despite the age of the record. Nice dynamics and sounds more holographic and organic than the 24-bit/192 kHz digital version. Highly recommended if you can grab one in good condition. 4.75 / 5

was lucky to pick this one up for $40CAN. most rush albums are pricey but this one was worth it all the way. not labeled as an audiophile pressing but boy it sounds incredible. i hear something new every time i play this album and from the first moments of tom sawyer i knew it was a great copy.

Love Rush. Love this record. This is my personal copy purchased in '81 when it first came out. Have babied it and it is still in VG+ condish.
My personal favorites are "Red Barchetta", "Limelight", and "YYZ". Every track is a winner, however. These guys were perfectionists in every way.
The pressing sounds fantastic. I've got many nice old pressings of classic releases, but this always impresses me with its dynamics, clarity, and punch.
This gets 5 stars for great writing, 5 stars for flawless execution, and 5 stars for a dynamic pressing. -
This sure sounds like an audiophile pressing. It is mastered and pressed pristinely. This pressing is the second best sounding vinyl in my collection. The speakers just melt away and the band feels like they’re in the room with you while listening. I don’t own any other Rush vinyl but I’m hoping that they sound as great as this does. My friend owns a recent repress which sounds good, but the stereo width on this pressing is that much better.

The sound quality of this is just insane. I can see why the price has gone up lately. This is a total gem.

I have my dad's original copy. I trying to figure out what was going on with that album cover. Then I got to know the music. That's the cool thing about growing up with music.
