Hello
Please someone direct me to which specific CD release of Rising containing the LA mix to buy .
Thank you
Peter

Outside of the Re-Mastered LA-Mix version of this Album, and the Munich 77 concert, I know of few CDs/-recordings where the audio is so brilliantly great. The best thing about the Deluxe versions of these albums, is that it is thenext best thing to getting the Japanese pressings. The German discs that I have bought so far have packaging made in other parts of the EU, but the discs are the key usually. The presentation has great packaging, pictures, and a superb booklet. The New York Mix is not the greatest all-round mix, but if you want a mix that centres on the guitar on vocals, then the NY mix works. The best all round mix is the LA mix since it has the NY sound with the depth of the Bass into the mix. The Rough mix on disc two comes very close to being as good as the LA mix, but ails on some level. If you want a great audio experience, put these discs on a 5.1 so that the channels will flesh out, even though the mix is stereo ( I know that, okay certain persons) but I have software that uses the 5.1 channel to the optimum on the PC, and you do something similar on a TV surround sound. All in all these RAINBOW discs are great. Overall my favorite all over sound is LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL, but this is still excellent, and the package is great for fans, and the Booklet tells part of the story for this CD, a great product, and definitely the LA Mix makes a great Car CD for those who need that in their travels. Just a minor note; The sounds you can hear developing in RAINBOW were starting to come around in the latter part of DEEP PURPLE, and as the Booklet notes, Blackmore learning the Cello helped him expand his composing skills and find a sound for some of his tonal variations that were changing. Ever the temperamental artist, it was probably almost inevitable that Blackmore wind up playing in his current band, BLACKMORES NIGHT which has some skillful guitar work as well as brilliant ideas.

Such a fresh and zingy sounding album , these words, used to describe the sound, were spoken on the Easter Saturday weekend in 1976 when the UK DJ Alan Freeman played Tarot Woman on his Saturday Rock Show. How right was Alan ??
I bought it on Good Friday in HMV, Leeds aged 13 with my pocket money. It had just been released the day before I believe ?!? I have still got my first pressing ( it's variant 2 )and in near mint vinyl plus ex + for the sleeve.
My goodness it sounds so good even today especially after giving it a good wet clean with my Spin Care system. Not such a fan of heavy rock anymore these days, more a Joni, Tori and Kate Bush fan but this record is a true pioneer along with Vol. 4 and Sabotage for today's prog metal bands like DT?I
I like it. No I love it. Especially this original vinyl version. -
One of the greatest albums of the 70's, and still holds the best melodies till this very day. Songs that express true musicianship, & heart.
