Edited 19 years agoMiles can play some beautiful music when he set himself to the task. Beautiful and fragile in a way that Sketches of Spain was. An intensely hopeful record.
This is like the calm before the storm and an incredible album to throw on late late in the night right when the sun begins to rise.
In a Silent Way, the song itself should worm its way into your special music collection.
This album also literally was the calm before the storm that brought forth the most intense and fertile period of Miles shape shifter career and possibly the last time you could hear that horn played with such a gentle approach.
