LOADED WITH AIR pockets. A vast solar canvas. 2 disc's the first in a series: CD1: arecibo and CD2: phoenix. SETI stands for Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (you know there isn't any on this planet); written and produced by Savvas Ysatis and Taylor808. Each disc is a song broken up into seven parts: .beacons 01-07 and 08-14. The music explores the subject it intends. I dig it. It is great for listening to while reading, eating, sleeping or exploring your inner sanctum. Sounds, both distant and near. Probably the closest thing you'll hear to a musical representation of radio telescopes sweeping the night time sky ... Booklet contains information about SETI and it's president Frank Drake; a short story by Madison Blue and other interesting outer limit stuff. Leonard Nimoy even lent a helping hand.

Edited 20 years agoIntegrating experimental techno, actual samples from deep space radioscopy (specifically recordings of pulsars), and spoken word by Dr. Frank Drake (a senior scientist with the SETI Institute), Taylor 808 & Savvas Ysatis have created a thoroughly enjoyable ambient double album.
The first disc, Arecibo, is named after the famous, enormous radio telescope in Puerto Rico. (This is the same radio telescope featured in a number of major Hollywood movies, including & Goldeneye.)
The second disc, Phoenix, is named after the most ambitious SETI project to date. Using the 210 foot Parkes radio telescope in New South Wales, Australia, Project Phoenix scanned about 1,000 stars all within 200 light years' distance away from Earth.
SETI's "Pharos" is an excellent example of high-tech science inspiring a beautiful work of art. More info on the SETI Project can be found at www.seti.org.
