-
The Boss as depressing folk troubadour where he took an artistic risk to present himself as Woody Guthrie reincarnated w/ the very strong thought provoking narrative lyrics coming across like short stories that take you on a visual as well as an auditory trip on this genuinely timeless set that shines in its simplicity ion & sincerity. A remarkable piece of lean haunting acoustic guitar driven soul work reflecting on the universality of our human condition. Precursor to "The Ghost of Tom Joad" & “Devils and Dust”.
Gotta be in the right mood but it gets better & better as one ages.
