The credits on this record have always cracked me up. It says "written by A. Coe", but then Xpander and Belfunk were written by Spooky. Which is it? Can't be both! As a long time Spooky fan, there is no doubt in my mind Xpander is a Spooky track, pure and simple.

Edited 20 years agoThis is definately among the greatest of Sasha's productions. With soft Progressive, ambient feel to each track, its simple yet complex and definately one of the most genius Electronic Dance Music productions to ever be realeased. This EP demands the utmost respect...

This possibly the only production by Sasha I like. In truth, most of the credit is due to his studio techs for dailing in the perfect reverb and effects, and tweaking things to perfection. I like Expander, but for me the Baja is the real gem here. Track starts with nearly two minutes of intro ambience before the melody comes in. It's another three minutes until the grooving dub bassline appears. There's a wonderful percussive break at around nine minutes that induces alpha waves upon hearing it. The spacey, shuffling percussion feels like ketamine jungle -- it compels you to move, but you're too blissed to do it. Never tiresome, even at its twelve plus minute length, Baja is what _Airdrawnyawner_ tried despertely to be and failed.
