Huge Townshend fan, so I buy these half-speed masters almost by reflex. Kind of a shame as the Astley/Showell mastering chain is consistently about as limp and lifeless as it gets. This was cut so low that you need to crank the sh!t out of it to bring the sound to any kind of life at all. And cranking the volume highlights the (typically) substandard, noisy GZ pressing defects, which makes this $40 release a complete waste of money. Original pressings are plentiful--get one of those instead.
