Sounds very good. Seems to have RKS' sound signature of a tiny bit of a treble boost, but it helps the voices here stand out from what is an arkestra of many. Re: the comment that the cover art is blurry, I think that's the case of the art in general - even looking at photos of earlier pressings, the cover photo looks slightly out of focus. Bought this from VMP and very glad to have gotten this AAA at a decent price.

Flat and quiet. It is so crucial that the pressing be quiet since the title track ends with a long and very quiet coda that's very striking...but it requires a silent background. Static or ticks and pops would ruin it. Medium soundstage, bass is a little muffled and boomy. I assume this is a result of limitations of the original recording. Percussion sound is not vibrant. Saxes, organ, and voices sound good. That said, nothing here leaps out of the speakers with the realism and immediacy of great jazz recordings like those in the recent VMP Miles Davis box set. Cover art is blurry and looks like shit. VMP really needs to step up their game when it comes to artwork.
I really enjoy this record. For me, it is worth $40 because it's a very clean copy of a fun record that I want in my collection. Highly recommended. -
Surprisingly, the deadwax etching shows this is an entirely new lacquer cut by Ryan K. Smith, different from the recent Verve By Request version which was also cut by Ryan K. Smith.
