Edited 6 months agoyou could run over any pressing of this song with a truck, a steamroller and have it tastefully decorated by an iHop employee and the mix wouldn't be any more flat. Clearly missing that Lynne magic that made Real Love and Free As A Bird so fantastic. if the original 1995 version sounded close to this, Harrison was clearly correct in vetoing it's finish. Lennon's original solo demo, on the other hand, is fantastic and has the bridge that N&T is severely lacking. As a song, it just really wasn't needed after the amazing bookends of the 1995 Threetles session.

Edited one year agoI must have got lucky, my copy is flat, quiet, and no skips or blemishes. I wanted this for the significance of its technological advancement in bringing to life a track we never would have had otherwise.
I must be honest, to me this isn't a masterpiece musically. It's not a mind blowing production. But yet simultaneously it is more a masterpiece than most anything put together today. The steps taken to make this possible, and the decades of time ed bring it together, make it special. It is a Swan Song, a last hurrah, a sign-off to a generation of music making. With everything "The Beatles" have been for so many generations, this was the cap on the career. I enjoyed the music, and the 7" is beautiful! I'm glad to have an original copy and will continue to spin it time after time.
Finally my purchase was also kind of a luck of the draw thing. I had planned to buy this when it came out but just never got around to it. Then I was at Wal-Mart this week flipping through the records just for fun (I rarely buy from there) and on a small shelf underneath mixed in with CDs and records sleeves, one copy was wedged between the edge of the shelf and some misc. For $18 I decided that was my sign. Had it not been there, I might have skipped, but here I am. -

Same problem as on the blue,Misspressing at ¨Love me do¨Seems like an error of the pressing in !Polidor?

I have the black and the blue single version.
Both discs bought the same day, different shops,Both at Love, love me do hanging at the same point.Misspressing? -
With the massive amount of photos and graphic designers available to come up with and attractive and appealing cover for this "last" Beatles song, why in the world was this cover chosen?! I actually decided to not even buy it because of that cover. I bought the red and blue compilation albums so I have the song on that. I vote this cover the worst ever in all Beatle history. Even the White album with a number stamped on it is more appealing.

Edited one year agoFinally received my copy from Amazon.ca today. Interesting that the hype sticker on the front says Black Vinyl, covered over with another butt ugly sticker that says 'Now and Then [Light Blue 7" Single]' with a different barcode.
