This pressing is ok, Feels like a high-resolution version of an old tape - which It likely is. Not as hot as the European repress from 1978 made in . Perhaps my copy was late in the stamper's life. A little less quiet than I expected; dead wax is kinda dimpled.

Have a first pressing of this album, there was always something that felt a little wrong about a few songs, can't describe it but one or two tracks are off kilter in a way I can't describe. So I bought this version hoping that my first pressing was just wonky, nope just part of the music. Wish I could describe it, but in some of the songs it's like you can hear the tape splices or something, it's just off. Maybe that's the clarity of vinyl, but never noticed it on CD or tape.

Not a bad presssing ,quiet vinyl, decent sound ,actually blows away the new mfsl, but that isnt saying much cause the new mfsl is horrible , it has that dead as a door nail sound that some people just flock to, but with that being said neither the Nautilus or the Mfsl can hold a candle to the best originals

This is one of my favorite albums and this pressing does it justice. The sound is so clear. As previously stated the instrument separation far exceeds any other version of this album I've heard. Just listen to the opening track "Good Times Roll" with a nice pair of headphones and hear for yourself!

I'm not even much of a Cars fan but I have to it this pressing sounds fantastic. The instrument separation is great. I had never heard these songs except on the radio and this record does them justice. A great one to impress bystanders who wander into your listening area!

Great sounding pressing! Once the volume is adjusted (it comes a little low), appears great instrument separation, depth and resolution.

I don't know if this helps as the release date is unknown, but I bought my copy brand new at the record shop on 10/31/80. I always write the date of purchase for all my LP's on the inner sleeve or on a 3X5 card that I keep in the album. That being said, it doesn't prove it was released in 1980 as it could have been earlier, but it was with the new releases as I recall.

I picked this version up at an audiophile swap meet in Denver and it sounds fantastic. Amazing separation of instruments and soundstaging. Better depth than any digital version I have heard (though I don't have any other vinyl versions to compare it to). I would still recommend it if you find a copy.
