I played this album on repeat for a few years straight, so I know it very well. I had the 2017 reissue for years and tight it sounded pretty good, pretty much like my CD, but a little better, so I was happy with it. But then I decided to go for this since it is supposedly cut from the same metalwork as the original European presses and the reviews were good. This absolutely is better than the 2017, and it's like hearing this for the first time again. The bass is huge but never interferes with the vocals, which I felt was a problem with the 2017. This is one of the best modern rock vinyl pressings I own now. I will blast this on the regular

Certainly better than the digital version, which has a much more compressed master.
It sounds good, but I’m not giving it 5 stars because during the more saturated moments in the high frequencies (intense riffs, hi-hats, vocals), I feel it struggles a bit, and the sound "loses body."

Just picked up a new sealed copy of this based on the reviews and it being based off the original european stampers. After running it through a clean as usual (as one should always do with new records), I was STUNNED by what I was hearing. The entire album can be played straight through, but Cochise, Show Me How to Live, and Gasoline in particular hit so hard that I couldn't help but turn it to 11. It's like I was truly hearing this masterpiece for the first time. Dead silent noise floor too.

Unless you can find a reasonable priced copy of the 2002 pressing (https://discogs.sitiosdesbloqueados.info/release/1530498-Audioslave-Audioslave), this is the one to get. Kudos to MOV for this killer release!

I have both this MOV issue and the 2017 reissue. While I don’t have an audiophile setup, here are my thoughts:

            1. This MOV issue has a higher dynamic range and larger soundstage. Instrument separation isn’t huge but still better than the recent reissues. I couldn’t tell any difference between the 2017 reissue and streaming version.

            2. You can for sure hear compression both on this and the 2017 reissues but much less on this one. If you go in thinking this version will sound like a vintage Led Zeppelin record, then you will be disappointed BUT this definitely sounds much better than a lot of modern rock records.

            3. In the 2017 reissue, the drums sounded small and the bass got muddy in loud parts. This is not an issue here. This is very important as loud drums and bass is a signature sound of this band.

            4. Inner groove distortion on tracks like Shadow On The Sun and What You Are is quite high in the 2017 reissue. Not a problem in this version.

            5. Chris’s voice on this issue is much more upfront and clear on this issue. It’s not like he is singing in the room but still clearer.

If you want an affordable copy of this then the 2017 reissue is a good value option. If you want to get more out of this album (like myself since I grew up listening to this album) then this is the best option.

Hearing the juicy guitar parts, beautiful fuzzy bass, dynamic drums and soaring vocals in high definition is what I was craving from an album I know so well.

Incredibile sounding pressing, it uses the original european stampers.
The sound is so crisp and powerful.

This is how I want a record to sound. Fantastic pressing. Get this if you don’t have it.

This pressing, in my opinion, is the best pressing. The 2017 reissue is flat, probably from digital format. Significant difference between the two. 2002 presses seem to be close. Mov did a great job with this press
