Press is great. Love the sound on it. The individual sleeve for each vinyl is better than the album sleeve in my opinion. So happy I was able to grab a copy of this one.

Edited 10 months agoGreat album, good pressing. Vinyl is quiet, Just a few pops and clicks but hey, its vinyl! Soundstage is good but not great. Good low- end and crystalclear in the highs.
But its a shame they used the paper innersleeves. -

Took 3 cracks to get a cleanish copy. 1st two had visible and audible non fills. 3rd copy just has some little clicks here and there so nothing drastic at last. Sounds mighty too perhaps bar the Axis cover as it is abit compressed and suffers IGD on lesser needles/generators. Otherwise yes absolutely stellar sound and another winner for MOV, eventually lol!

Excellent pressing on dead silent wax - literally no surface noise or pops. Dynamics are great and well balanced. Bold as Love sounds a bit compressed and I wish all songs had a wider soundstage, but acknowledging the album was recorded in digital, this is the best the album has ever sounded to me. I also have the Live in LA pressing from MOV which is even more enjoyable and retains all the excitement of a live recording.

This pressing sounds dynamite. Don't hesitate to buy this if you find one in the wild. The track list is iconic.

Brilliant press. Even more brilliant music. This is THE John Mayer album to get first. Then rush to buy the rest.

Edited 2 years agoWow. Absolutely outstanding. It's hard for me to imagine this sounding any better. Is this quality typical for Music on Vinyl? I intend to find out!

First and foremost, this pressing is STELLAR. If you have clicks and pops, you either got a bad copy, have a setup that has some weak points, or need to invest in a quality record cleaning machine.
Ok, with that out of the way…those commenting that you get a digital quality out of this pressing, this album was recorded hi-res digital and then mastered from tape. So you’re not going to get a true analogue sound out of it. But with that being said, aside from the MFSL Dire Straits Brothers in Arms, this pressing is the closest non-AAA pressing I’ve heard sound to AAA. There is warmth, instrument separation, wide stereo image, incredible transients and lows, this is a MASTERFUL pressing. They wouldn’t ever do one, since the original wasn’t recorded analogue, but I couldn’t even see an AP UHQR sounding any better. If you’re a John Mayer fan (hell, even if you aren’t), do yourself a favor and buy this now.
Current set up: Pro Ject The Classic Superpack SB turntable, VAS woodbody modded Shure M91 cartridge with microline stylus, Pro Ject Tube DS2 Phono Stage with vintage RCA tubes, Marantz 6005SR, Klipsch RP-8060fa speakers, Klipsch R-112SW Sub.
