Generally speaking, I found all the Genesis B-sides I encounter to be great tracks (in my opinion). In fact, some of my favourite Genesis tracks are B-sides. It was customary to refer to an LP version as the long version. Whereas 7" singles sometimes had edited, short versions. Sometimes even longer, different mixes or versions were released and labelled as 'Extended version' especially on Disco 12" singles.
