Definitely less surface noise than a modern pressing. Not a deal breaker to buy a newer press for me though
-
A rarity amongst albums in the digital age. Wilco prefer reel-to-reel tape rather than recording on the digital equipment - proper analog and absolutely top drawer sound, on a par with The Beatles analog reissues. This is what vinyl is all about.
-
This pressing is still king. Out of the original and the new 2022 remaster, this one is still easily the best.

Bought this album through this release page in 2020 but didn't open it until today because today is the 20th anniversary of the commercial release. Can confirm that there is no CD and no card and it has P. USA stamped in side One and Three.
Sounds great but it still has some pops. Will compare to the 20th anniversary edition to see which is better.
-
Sounds great!! Didn't get the CD with mine :/ But I really can't complain considering the quality of the pressing.
-
This copy sounds fucking superb, it's one of the best pressings I own. It comes in a beautiful tip on jacket with poly lined inner sleeves as well as printed paper inner sleeves included separately. This is a seriously great package and a great pressing for a classic record, I'd highly recommend.
-
My copy is perfect. Sturdy jacket plus impeccable flat 180 grams black vinyl. The playback is excellent even in the quietest parts. It came with the CD so I guess it’s an original press.
-
Both discs on my copy were warped. Probably because of the CD being stuffed in the sleeve, which I wish labels wouldn't do. Returned

I am guessing there are many different re-pressings of this version. I have an original press of this repress, if that makes sense, and it definitely comes with a CD and DOES NOT have poly-lined sleeves. Just printed inners. If you did not receive a CD with yours or it came with poly-lined sleeves, it was pressed later than this one. This is still in current production, so its not surprising. I noticed a lot of people on Amazon saying this has huge gaps between songs, well I can also confirm my copy plays like the cd with hardly any gaps. My copy on the outside also has a sticker saying "180 gram High-Performance Vinyl, Includes complete album on CD". We might need to create another listing for a version that did not come with CD.
-
My copy did not come with a CD. Not that I care, but I just figured this could help other folks.
On another note: I moved to Chicago in 2002, the year this album was released (retail). My neighbor used to give me a ride to the CTA every morning, and she was OBSESSED with this album. She used to play it on a tape on her WV at, and sing along (War on War was probably her favorite -mine was Heavy Metal Drummer! lol). I have very fond memories of those times, and of this record. I am very happy I added it to my vinyl collection.
p.s. The Marina Towers pictured on the cover is my favorite building in the city (and we have many outstanding towers to chose from!).
