I picked this up for $40 at a local store as a backup to the MOV reissue. With the yellow color, there’s a cool factor. I’m playing it on an old Vector Research turntable plugged into a Sony receiver with terrible Sanyo speakers, and it sounds fine. If you can find this as your duplicate copy of The Real Thing, go for it.

Agree with most comments regarding sound quality. If I listen on a nice set of headphones through a Schiit headphone amp and a Schiit EQ, I have to tweak it quite a bit to get a sound I like. But it can be done and sounds good. Through speakers I have to crank up the subwoofer and add a lot of EQ, but again, can make it sound pretty good.

This pressing sucks ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as soon as i opened it and spun it i immediately came on here and ordered a uk first press !!!!
-
Not that great of a pressing. Sounds compressed and thin. Some tracks are decent, but at times it's really lacking. The album is a 10/10 though but we already knew that
-
Sound wise I find this pressing to vary on the position on the record. Generally its not outstanding, but its on the acceptable side of good. Listening on a Goldring GR1 with a rega arm and goldring Elektra cart, through project basic phono box to a focusrite dac to Grado SR125 with big pads it sounds good. Its not world beating, but its not terrible. On my system with speakers it would probably sound better again.

I couldn’t disagree more😳 sounds great and the bass is great. And my copy has war pigs!!! Not sure which copy you guys have but sorry
-
Kinda surprised with the high ratings. Of course I love this album. I adore the band. But. This version sounds bright and thin. I was disappointed.
-
I have to agree about comments regarding this pressing too. Compressed sound, no dynamics and bass is almost completely absent in spite of the mid-high range, which in my opinion, is too pronounced. What a great pity!
-
I have to agree with the comments regarding this pressing. No life to it, very little bass. Sounds pretty terrible.
On the plus sided, not warped or off centre .. think i'll stick to the CD for now though! -
I have cassette tapes that sound better than this! One of my favourite albums by one of my favourite bands & I was drawn in by the yellow vinyl. First playing & I thought something was wrong with my setup, the album sounds so flat. Very disappointed.
