Not sure why there's been such a flurry of relatively affordable copies of this version lately, when even the last reissue was a few years ago now, but it's welcome all the same. Nabbed a copy and to be fair, it's absolutely one of the best-sounding versions to my ears (no frustrating staticky/glossy inners or blurry outer artwork, either). Ace.

Damn! I’ve finally just acquired this after many years, and the recent reissues cannot touch this original pressing…if the opportunity arises at a sane price, do not hesitate ☮️

Just received a copy of this with the label 1 pressed waaay off centre. Anyone seen other copies like this?
Only very mildly affects the sound -
I wonder why RSD is releasing the promo press. (besides the obvious gimmicks) over this one...
The 'general public' one is equally sought after, the cover is definitely better and the lack of remixes is certainly an improvement in the audio department (16min. per side VS 22 and... black vinyl might help too).
If someone has both pressings, i'd be happy to hear what they have to say ('sadly', i only have the promo press)! -
Y’all! I assume the lawsuit regarding “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World” is now resolved!! The song is now back on streaming services! And the promo pressing version of this album will be reissued for RSD 2022!!! Y’all can finally get this album on a regular price. :)

This album should’ve always been as easy to get on vinyl as Purple Rain, IMO; it’s his ‘90s masterpiece. Hopefully, if the TMBGITW legal ime isn’t resolved soon, someone will come up with an unofficial reissue to allow us to by the silly used prices.
