Mixed experience with Waits's label. Some pressings are just ok. Others are poor quality. This time the LP was filthy, covered in smudges, and detritus.

Really nice pressing. Very little surface noise after a trip through the SpinClean. Full and clear sound. Tom sounds like he's right in front of you.

My vinyl copy of what I believe is a 2023 reissue has the same 045778756810 bar code as earlier Epitatph reissues but the run out info is completely different. TOM WAITS -SMALL CHANGE- A and EPITATH 87568-1 A etched on side one along with some possible initials I can not make out. 40117.1(3)... appears to be stamped there as well.
Pretty much the same story on side two. TOM WAITS -SMALL CHANGE- B and EPITATH 87568-1 FURNACE B with a RE below that B and again there are some initials I can not make out. Stamped is 40544.2(3)...

As other comments here has pointed out, there is a few pops here and there, but with some thorough cleaning managed to get rid of most of it. And my copy also has the center hole issue. The album sounds great otherwise. Clear, raw, beautiful sound.

Ditched my original pressing. It was a snap, crackle, and pop fest. This pressing sounds fine for the most part. There are a few stray pops even after cleaning but nothing particularly egregious. This was likely caused by the surface scuffs I noticed freshly after opening it for the first time. The original sounds a bit more lively and full compared to this reissue but it's not god awful. I'll gladly listen to this until I have enough time and money to hunt down a pristine OG.

Edit*** just wanted to add that the center hole on my copy was a little tight getting on to the spindle. Could be a bit off center. I see this a lot with modern pressings.
