Wilco – Summerteeth

Torn between this version and the 2009 version released on Nonesuch. Has anyone compared those two versions specifically?

An astounding album and a solid remaster. The demos, outtakes and alternate versions are, as one would expect, a revelation, and the second reason to have this. Not being a fan of live albums in general I would have preferred an option for a 2-disc edition, although, the recordings are excellent. This does not replace the original CD release, being a different sounding transfer.

1,000% agree with the need for a gatefold on this. It makes zero sense but — first world problem. Bellman’s work here is fantastic. This is likely a residue from the box set, but that said — if you are a fan of Via Chicago, this is the best version of Via that I’ve heard.

good pressing and good sounding record. But cruelly overpriced, particularly if you try to get one in Europe...

Fantastic pressing of a wonderful album. Gatefold would’ve been nice, but that’s my only gripe. One of the best sounding albums I own, a joy to play.
The lined sleeves are welcomed and should really be standard with all new vinyl considering the prices these days. The blue vinyl looks great. Really happy I got ahold of this one. Flat and quiet w incredible sound, taking it to the grave with me.

I absolutely love this pressing of Summerteeth. It’s a highlight of the vinyl medium for indie rock and Wilco lovers. My copy sounds detailed and rich, and arrived flat and clean. Wilco put a lot of care into these re-releases. I prefer the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot box set more, but I listen to Summerteeth often since I’m less familiar with the songs compared to YHF.

Mastered by Bob Ludwig and cut by Chris Bellman. Winning combination for sound, which matters the most. The music is, of course, amazing, and this pressing really does it justice. Vinyl is dead silent with no pressing defects and really nice blue. The vinyl comes in polylined sleeves as well, so no debris or surface scratches. Yes the cover is basic, but for this price, I'm not complaining.

This reissue sounds great and is affordable! It's been on the turntable a lot since I got it from my local shop in (R)October 2024. I just wish there was a lyric sheet so I could read along to Jeff Tweedy's brilliant words. I busted out my old CD to look at the lyrics. "Summerteeth" is such a great album. Love the bright blue wax. This album has been sort of a yardstick I've measured my other albums by and it makes a lot of other albums pale in comparison. This LP is incredible and consistent start to finish. Glad to finally have it on vinyl. It's been so long since I listened to this album I almost forgot how much I love it.

My copy sounds amazing...wish the packaging mirrored the original gatefold, but the blue records look nice and it's dead silent vinyl. Well mastered.
