Yello – The Eye

Both inner sleeves are damaged because the paper sleeve is thin and each record has moved. When albums cost so much the inner sleeves should be of better quality and not be flimsy plastic.

Wow I did not expect this album to sound so good on vinyl. There are certain elements on the vinyl that do not exceed the CD version but I can't believe that this much detail is captured in te vinyl!

Another bunch of pearls from Boris Blank, the divine master of electric groove, on vinyl !! Great pressing, great sound, pitch it! I don't like the songs with the ladies too much, but of course, like the Malia LP, he does it cool. A few songs have lyrics spoken by Mr Meier, spreading his cool and dark mood over the polyrhytmic music. All instrumentals are perfect trips into electronic space ;-)

Mastering is outstanding!Pressing 10/10,Cover is top,inner nice but could be with anti static sleeves.
What else to say,after 18 years it is here!I had it in my head all these years,how it would sound on my turntable and finally it's here.Spinning on my platter.Listening to Distant Solution...Hipster's Delay...Time Palace ..with a glass of wine....Like a dream...something like..out of this world!Divine!

So exciting to have this great album on vinyl! Like the other Yello reissues, the vinyl is clean and flat, and the sleeves and inners are of high quality. The sound quality on the records is very respectful and pressed well. My only minor complaint on "The Eye" is how the tracks are distributed across the sides -- they cram five tracks onto side one, then four on side two, three on side three, then two on side four which makes little sense to me. If anything, they should have given the first half of the album more room to breathe, especially "Tiger Dust". This track is one of their greatest achievements and it would have been nice to have that song more isolated for DJ purposes. It is the first track on side two, so queuing it up will be a bit easier. I guess the band wanted to distribute the tracks in this certain way, but it would have been better if they spread them out a bit more. Other than that, I'm really impressed with the overall package here; they did a great job of respecting a classic album in the Yello catalogue.
