Edited 3 years agoI think I'm in the minority in my liking this record better than Kingdom Come. The songs feel more inspired. 'Man From Manhattan' and 'Chicago Lives' in particular feel incredibly strong. The album is rather short, clocking in at just over 30 minutes, however it feels much longer but in a good way. It kept me hooked and I really enjoy it from start to finish. I do wish they had added a bit more, as the fade out of the final 'Ceasar' track left me desiring more. Unfortunately, this is the last real creative content the band would produce (we don't talk about III Raw). Definitely add this to your collection if you enjoy the music of early Bang!, Dust, or of course Sabbath.
And a quick note on this pressing: My copy is quiet (even while there is not much quiet time on the record) and the dynamics are proper. I have no complaints and can recommend it. -

Edited 7 months agoStrange release indeed. Cover gives an counterfeit impression mostly because the gatefold is clearly reprinted from an used US original copy (it reprinted even the ugly original drill hole without trying to cover it). But the quality of the reprint and the glossy cardboard doesn't look like the usual bootleging way of making record covers - it is obviously more profesionally done job. Labels on the copy I own look exactly like an mid to late 70's Netherlands' official Mercury pressing. There's no smallest trace on them to discover as if they were counterfeited. The vinyl and pressing itself also look absolutely profesionally made. There are stamped matrixes too. And the sound quality is really great.
On the other hand, it would be unusual for the Netherlands' Mercury branch to reprint a record gatefold that way, especially because the Netherlands' original release of this album has different cover art.
