Mine has a kinda gold/multicolour splatter colour, but unfortunately it's dead in the right channel, just very quiet and distorted.

Couldn't find this colour on here though. Anyone ever seen one?

Very impressed with this mastercut, very in your face and dynamic and properly pressed by Optimal. Not too muddy in the low end which I like, plenty punch on my Transrotor/Mcintosh pre/power amp w/B&W 802ds to satisfy both the casual listener as well and audiophiles. Recommended.

Sounds fine for this kind of record!
Of only.... It could be a just a little less compressed and Hommes' nice bass riffs a bit more in the forefront

How can you offer for this for 8000 USD? This is rubbish, no one pays that price, not the biggest ultra fan will...

Has anyone compared this to the 2010/2011 2LP version with same tracklisting?

Ok so I own all of the major editions of this album so I’m gonna rank them from best to worst based on their qualities:

                1. 2011 Extra Track Repress:
For me the best pressing of the album available for purchase. Although it’s out of print, the details within the mix are unmatched. Valuing of the original track listing as the added songs fit in perfectly and don’t take anything away from the original album.

                2. Original 1998 Pressing: The original sounds superb, if you’re looking for
                T H E L O W - E N D
then this version gives you that and then some. It’s the warts and all approach.

                3. 2022 Original Repress - Incredible faithful to the original pressing and sounds almost as good. Isn’t far off from the low frequency rumblings and if you’re looking for the original experience without paying too much then this would be the closest thing to that.

                4. 2024 Extra Track Repress - Was both surprised and excited by this repress. It had to be done as the 2011 repress is so hard to come by. It processes a flatter cut overall but it isn’t as thick and heavy, as a result the details are there but not as prominent. Still a good bet though

Not a bad pressing in sight but some are better than others. Vinyl is how this beautiful album was meant to be played. Give The Mule What He Wants

Sounds very good. Records were clean and flat. Mine has matrices crossed out.

sounds great to my ears. this album is no audiophile hifi thing. if you want that, listen to something else. in my opinion, this pressing slaps and that's everything i need. color looks cool too and the obi strip and artwork is a slay.

New reissue is out, spread over 2LPs, it sounds good and has all the bonus tracks, buy that instead.

I received the one with crossed out matrix but quite confident they both are from the same master.

Ordered this directly from QOTSA website. Discs are flat and came super clean.

This is better than the recent original artwork single LP reissue. I had the orange vinyl and sold it next day. The one LP had more sibilances, distortion and sounded muffled/compressed. I preferred listening on streaming to the one LP reissue.

When I compare this 2 LP reissue with streaming, the soundstage and separation is better. Overall fidelity is better than what’s on Spotify/Qobuz. Bass guitar has more definition.

However, brickwalled sound is still evident in almost all the songs and the treble is at times hard to tame. The mid range could’ve been much better. As a result, the sound of the record is still overall thin and lacks the rawness (i.e sounds sterile for its nature).

I suspect the source is the issue here. Chris Bellman is one of the best in the industry so he probably tried to master it the best he could.

I would really appreciate it if someone could compare this with the 2010/2011 2 LP reissue. I am wondering if it is worth getting that.
