        It's not as essential as VU, but worth it for the circa WLWH "Guess I'm Falling In Love" alone. That is, if you can find it for less than 30 bucks. Also, I prefer the semi-wacky 80s mixes to the recent "1969" comp (not the live album from the 70s). Everybody who bought a copy of this went on to junk bond and mortgage-backed debt trading.

            This is the same extra album that was included in the white VU box set from the middle of the 80’s. It contains leftovers from The VU release.

              My Version is most similar to this (same matrix, also "made in ", same booklet look - but at the CD the box next to Box "GEMA" and down The box "829 405-2" is clear (no written "Made in...")

                  It goes without saying, of course, that this is not just any slapdash collection of outtakes: it's a collection of Velvet Underground outtakes, and that makes all the difference. This band radiated a strange magic that made their peers sound hopelessly blah in comparison and was never equaled during the full flowering of punk...and here, even on the three (count 'em) instrumentals and sloppy alternate take of the chilling, John Cale-dominated 'Hey Mr. Rain', that magic is in evidence. (You also get 'We're Gonna Have a Real Good Time Together', which Lou Reed later reworked for his landmark solo album "Street Hassle", and a tentative early version of the anthemic 'Rock and Roll'.) Listening to demos, castoffs and studio warm-ups has never been so much fun.

                    The bottom of the barrel of studio recordings but it is still from The Velvet Underground.
                    I really like specific the track Guess I'm Falling In Love (Instrumental Version) which is a blueprint for any punk band of how to write a song.
                    Very very strong and basic but very effective !!!
