Edited one year agoVery good quality US Press (Made by the US for the US !)
Because this compilation has not been distributed outside the US ! And yes, for the others, you'll have to pay the shipping and customs fees ! which will double the price !!! It's crazy, for once we can find a good Studio One pressing, without any default, they keep it for themselves...
But it's a Killer compil' of very hard to find tracks (and first time availlable on LP for the most of them !)
Various - Studio One Roots Vol. 3)
And all the different DJ cut present here... without forgetting the icing on the cake, the Unreleased Discomix of Horace Andy’s eternal classic “Crab Walking” ! in 45 rpm !!!
Frankly, all that's missing is a distribution for the "rest of the world" and it would be perfect !
...Sound good like all my Yep Roc Records Reissue... -
Edited 3 years agoGreat compilation ... no question about that. The only point for a long-time collector: Which tunes haven't seen (pre)release before (I know, this comes with the respective instrumental/dub-versions ...)?

Edited 6 years agoReally great compilation! My only complaint is that the song "Far Beyond" had already been released on the Studio One - Roots compilation, and I think it actually sounds a bit better on that pressing. It is interesting to hear it next to the "Far Beyond Version" though. I think they had enough material out there to put out all previously unreleased stuff (or unavailable for a long time), but there's so many compilations that some overlap was maybe inevitble. Really love these compilations for the horn arrangements, especially the song "Money Worries". "Raggae Lady", "Little Joe", and "Burn Collie" are also great examples! "I Gave You My Heart" is also a gem, especially because the original single sells for a ton! Side D is also a great remix/slow track!
