    Wondering why Trojan used the "Duke Reid International" disco mixes design, when you know that these sleeves were made for Charles Reid releases, nothing to do with Treasure Isle...

      There was a fairly short-lived trend for reggae 'disco mixes' in the late 70s/early 80s, probably capitalising on the popularity of disco. They weren't disco though, they were extended 12" reggae mixes. Bit confusing for the fairweather buyer perhaps. On the whole it was a good trend though, as you usually got a vocal segueing into either a dub mix or a DJ toasting mix.

      These are all top quality extended mixes from the Treasure Isle catalogue and I have no trouble at all recommending it. There's not really a bad track on it.

      If you like this type of thing you may well enjoy these two comps of similar 12" tracks 1977 - 1982 style:
