We receive hundreds of messages per week asking us for pictures and conditions. We simply don't have the manpower to facilitate the window shoppers of this site. Feel free to hit us up if you have a question about a multiple hundred dollar item and we might be able to facilitate. No, we can not send you pictures of the condition of the jewel case for the $3.99 CD you're "highly interested" in.

SECOND MOST IMPORTANT ITEM: If you're concerned about the small handful of negative up against the tens of thousands of positive transactions we've had: this is simply what reality looks like when you don't appease problematic customers and give them their way even when they are blatantly in the wrong. Unlike other stores we will not bend over and let customers treat us like morons or speak to us like trash. We rectify situations that are our fault without question. We simply do not negotiate with online shopping terrorists who have been conditionED by Amazon and Walmart to believe that they are always in the right.

We have multiple stores. We are highly regarded. We didn't get here from ripping people off. We simply don't tolerate scammers or terrorists. Simple as that.

THIRD MOST IMPORTANT ITEM: The shipping cost is what it is. When we opened 6 years ago we could ship a record to you for $4. Media Mail was right around $3 and we could get a decent budget mailer for under a buck and, to be honest, we just ate the fees. NOW, in 2025, shipping a single record is between $5 and $6 depending where you live in the country. Budget mailers are no longer an option for any costly record considering the declining in quality of the product and the rising carelesness/abusiveness of the postal carriers. We primarily ship with Whiplash mailers which cost us between $1.50 and $2.00 depending what quantity we are purchasing in at the time. On May 22, 2023 Discogs chose to not only raise their percentage to 9% for a seller's commission but also extended that fee to the shipping cost as well. We charge $9 to ship domestically currently. Do the math. Also worth noting, the USPS is 4 years in on their 10 year regimented price raise structure so be prepared for increasing costs. All the more reason to take advantage of our flat rate shipping for more than one record (which we actually lose money on whenever we get above 1 lb).

The package will be mailed to your Discogs address. We utilize Pirate Ship shipping service which automates the labels for us based off of the information you provide in your Discogs.

We are a pair of brick and mortar record stores located in New Kensington, PA right outside of Pittsburgh. Preserving Record Shop opened in 2019, and has been selling online since around 2007. Our second location, Preserving Vinyl, is fresh for 2024 and less than one block away from our original location. Two stores on one block! We specialize in all formats of media as well as genre. Our inventory is extensive, both online and in-store. We also pride ourselves on exemplary customer service and satisfaction. These are a few of the reasons why we have managed to survive to this day.

Shipping:
We typically ship out on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
We ship to the address associated with your Discogs at time of check out.
It is not our responsibility if you fail to update your address correctly or have the package forwarded to you from the address we ship the package to.
All shipping includes tracking & is provided when the item ships.

Availability:
Our inventory is not limited to our Discogs store. We have tens of thousands additional items in stock & rotating daily, in-store.
All stock shown is also available in our busy shop, so there may be times when items have sold in the shop before being removed from Discogs. We try to maintain the accuracy of the stock list, but cannot always guarantee availability of items ordered. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused, but please bear this in mind when ordering.

Grading:
All of us here are also record collectors, and appreciate accurate grading. So we take grading very seriously, and grade conservatively. We do our best to represent items accurately. However we are human and we can make errors. If your opinion may differ from ours please us to discuss but we typically stand by our grading except in cases of something missed.

Pressings:
We make every attempt at matching the exact pressing to the matrix, catalog, barcode numbers, color, country, etc. At times they may very slightly, or are edited in the database by another after we have listed an item for sale. We cannot always confirm matrix, catalog, barcode numbers, color, etc, especially if it is unmarked or sealed. However the majority of the time we know based on several factors. Such as what we ordered from our distributors, process of elimination, etc. If any of this is of concern to you, please reach out and ask us prior to purchase.

Questions:
We attempt to answer all questions. We are also very busy, and probably will NOT have time to play individual records, take photographs of sleeves, etc. Be sure to send an email address when making such requests.
We sell through hundreds of items per week and unfortunately do not have time to take pictures of records or CDs under $100 typically.

Offers:
All offers will be considered IF THE BEST OFFER SETTING IS AVAILABLE. If we do not accept your offer it was based on a number of reasons. Please do not be upset if we no not accept, it is not personal.

Payment:
We accept PayPal & money orders. You may also make arrangements to pick up store.
Cancellation requests after payment is completed will incur the non-refundable PayPal fee we face by having a Business .

Damaged/ Defective Orders:
In the rare instance a used item arrives damaged or defective, please let us know. We are happy to help and work it out.
We are not responsible for Brand New items with manufacturing defects. If an item is Brand New and has an issue we recommend ing the label directly.
