I've been trading vinyl on and off for over 30 years, including one of the first online record stores in 1995. I know what I'm doing, but from time to time I still make mistakes. Please be understanding and patient if anything goes amiss - I will always do my best to rectify.
I post as fast as possible, because most buyers appreciate it.
I abide by the rules when using Discogs. A contributing factor to the fees being high is that so many sellers avoid them, and buyers like to avoid VAT/sales tax (where applicable). The of use of the site are clear - please don't ask to deal outside Discogs to circumvent the rules.

Grading/Condition of vinyl:
I try to grade conservatively, bearing foremost in mind what I would expect as a buyer.
Even following the standards and guidelines, there is still subjectivity, and unfortunately, some degree of 'grade inflation'. In practical , this means that gradings of Mint ('played a few times'), NM/VG+ ('a few crackles/pops'), are nonsensical.
I try to state as clearly as possible any defects, whether audio or visual - and I welcome any enquiries from buyers to clarify condition.
The terminology I typically use is as follows:

Hairlines - typically caused by records being removed from a sleeve, or from scraping against dirt/debris, but may also be caused by a needle. They are superficial, only cosmetic damage, and should have no effect on sound.
Scuffs/marks - a catch-all term that covers marks caused by play of the record or created in production (pressing faults). Scuffing usually means the record has been DJed with. Unless otherwise stated they should have no effect on sound.
Minor crackle - this is typically the result of wear (I clean every record to remove dust/dirt), and is unobtrusive. For a VG+ grade, a tiny amount of crackle is tolerable just after the run-in/in the first seconds of intro, or if it's barely perceptible.
If there is minor crackle, usually in a break or quiet age, I will grade as 'strong VG'.
Crackle - this is more obtrusive, and (sometimes) may not matter so much in an intro but will do so in a break, and certainly if the record is played out. However, it need not necessarily spoil one's listening experience. Records with any significant crackle will be graded VG at best.
A record with a larger amount of crackle may be described as VG-, as an intermediate grading better than G+ which will have persistent or continuous crackle. These categories depend on the severity as well as the duration of the crackle (pops, ticks, etc.) I sometimes specify which track is affected by crackle, as it may be that the one you're interested in is unaffected. A record with a skip/jump will be graded below G+.

I put more emphasis on the listening experience than visual appearance, conscious that records can look worse than they sound and vice versa. That said, if a record has a lot of scuffs/marks, but still plays (near) pefectly, I will typically grade as VG but note in the description that it 'plays VG+', meaning no crackle or virtually none.

Many records are overgraded because they are only visually assessed or because the defects are minor, or just wishful thinking. While I play test every record, I can't listen end-to-end, so it's possible I may miss something - in which case I'm always happy to address through returns, partial refunds, etc.

For the avoidance of doubt, particuarly for rare items, please me for pictures and/or audio samples. Upon receipt of record(s), if unsatisfied with the condition of a record, me in the first instance.

For shipments to EU, I use the Royal Mail's Click & Drop service to print labels and pre- IOSS/EORI information to ensure VAT is not double paid. However, this can happen (although very rarely) for certain EU countries.
I will not be held liable for any such errors by the receiving customs authority.
If you have any particular requests relating to shipping to your country, please do let me know, and I will accommodate as best I can.
