Hello! Welcome to Laurel Canyon Vinyl. Thanks for visiting our shop. We're independent record dealers from Yorkshire, England.

We're record collectors too, and we genuinely care about looking after records and providing a good service. Every used record we sell receives:

- Ultrasonic cleaning
- Free clear poly outer-sleeve
- Replacement period-correct inner sleeves or new replacement poly-lined inner sleeves when required (high quality poly-lined replacement sleeves available in our shop here!)
- Always shipped in safe and secure double fold heavyweight cardboard mailers

Every record is shipped out in strong and secure double-fold corner-protected cardboard mailers; we know that it's really frustrating to receive records that have been damaged in the post. For this same reason and unlike some sellers, we never use the cheaper, thinner, envelope-style mailers which generally provide little protection, and can often lead to creases and corner bumps on sleeves during transit.

Every used record is also professionally cleaned prior to dispatch using an ultrasonic cleaner and will arrive with you dirt-free, static-free and ready to play. If we think it needs it we may also wet-clean/spin-clean the record using our special isopropynol mixture. Each used 7", 12" or LP is then put inside a brand new clear poly outer-sleeve to protect it and keep it looking fresh. If the original inner-sleeve is damaged or missing then we'll provide a period-correct replacement, if one isn't available we'll put the record in a brand new poly or poly-lined replacement. Original printed inner sleeves will always be included if present, regardless of any wear or damage.

When shipping LPs we always separate the inner-sleeve and record from the jacket/outer-sleeve, and then place them both separately inside the new clear outer-sleeve. This is to prevent damage that can occur to seams and spines on covers during shipping, caused by the movement of the inner sleeve inside the cover. Any record listed as missing its original sleeve is stored and sent out in a generic plain sleeve/disco bag and a new outer-sleeve.

Vinyl Grading
Mint: We reserve use of this grading almost exclusively for sealed items. The only exception is if we have unsealed it ourselves and can guarantee that the record is unplayed. Sleeves will always be listed as Near Mint if unsealed.
Near Mint: Near Mint means Near Mint. Records with this grade must retain their original shine, and have little to no visible marks anywhere on the playing surface. The packaging may have a slight corner dink or very minor imperfection, but will otherwise be as-new.
VG+: Record will have some very light surface marks/hairlines which will not affect playback. The sleeve may have some minor wear around the edges, or evidence that it has been handled, allbeit very carefully.
VG: Record will have numerous light scratches, marks or hairlines and while these may create some surface noise occasionally the record will play through without skipping. The sleeve may have writing or a sticker on it, light creasing, edge-wear, some ring-wear or other superficial marks. NB - Original price stickers and hype stickers will not negatively affect the grading as these can often increase rather than decrease the value of a record.
G: Will play through without skipping, but there will be numerous pops, clicks and background noise. The playing surface will have scuffs, scratches and probably some loss of sheen. The cover will show various types of wear and may have moderate to heavy ring-wear, seam splits, damage from stickers that have been removed and handling marks.
F/P: We use this grading when either the record or sleeve is virtually beyond redemption. Useful if you want to pick up a good condition replacement cover for an existing LP or vice versa, without having to pay too much for a new copy. An F/P record will look excessively played, may skip or contain locked grooves and could even be damaged at the edges or around the spindle hole. An F/P sleeve will be extremely tatty, probably ripped or missing sections and generally unfit to hold the record. All details will be mentioned in the listing, and these are also shipped out in heavyweight clear poly outer sleeves which improves their appearance no end.

If record sleeves or labels have any stickers, biro or pen markings or any other relevant non-original elements then we will always mention these in the listing description.

International Shipping

AIRMAIL is tracked and insured and is the recommended shipping method for international orders. STANDARD shipping is NOT trackable or insured and is used only at the buyers risk. Any items sent using this service that are lost or damaged in transit cannot be refunded. Some destinations such as South America and Asia MUST be sent via Tracked & Insured. Due to the ongoing geopolitical situation we are not currently shipping to Russian Federation or Ukraine.

Please note: The buyer is liable for any inbound customs charges in the event that your country of residence imposes import duties, tariffs or charges on your order. We have no control over these charges and they vary from country to country. As the purchaser of the goods, you will be considered the importer by your country's customs authority, so please avail yourself of your government's import/duty tax regulations before placing an order. All postage is calculated on weight, with double LPs being twice the weight of a single for shipping purposes.

We strongly advise that orders being sent outside of the UK should be sent via insured shipping, and in some cases this will be mandatory.
