Version/variant
I have gone to all possible lengths to identify all of my stock as the exact version of the release. That includes close inspection of, amongst others, country, sleeve/label differences, runout/matrix information, SID codes, etc. No stone unturned! If you look at the release histories for many of my listed items you may see that I added to the release data during my investigations!

SALES TO EU

The reports of customs issues, or double-charging of VAT, on non-EU orders to EU buyers seem to have died down since late 2022. Which is not to say that they have gone away completely. I follow the best practice below to the letter and have not had a single issue since the changes came in over a few dozen sales to EU countries.

In order to mitigate any risks I am adopting the best practice as currently understood, namely:

1. All packages will be sent via Royal Mail with the Discogs IOSS reference recorded electronically
2. The Discogs invoice for your order will be affixed to the outside of your package in a document wallet
3. The customs form (CN22) will be filled out fully and affixed to the package

I am not a business, but a collector of music for over 40 years that is thinning out his collection! I have been buying and selling online for over 20 years.

POSTAGE POLICY
Orders under £30 are, by default, sent untracked/unsigned which provides a maximum of £20 of compensation cover. On these orders you have the choice to upgrade your delivery to tracked and/or signed during the checkout process.

UK orders above £30 will be sent Signed For and all non-UK orders over £30 will be sent Tracked/Signed*. Compensation for Tracked and/or Signed is limited to £50.

The default Automated Shipping Policies cover Royal Mail 2nd Class ONLY - there are simply too many options to make them all available through the ASP. If you require First Class, Guaranteed, UK Tracking, higher value compensation (than the standard £20/£50) or anything other than 2nd Class then please ask and I will give you a price. In order to keep costs down for both of us, please endeavour to do this before paying. Please don't assume that you'll get cover you're not paying for!

* For some countries Royal Mail will only allow Tracked or Signed but not both (no ... me neither). In such cases I will send Tracked. If you have an unslakable desire to have Signed instead then please specify before I send out to you!

Items are sent in high quality Jiffy bags, record mailers (with stiffeners) or CD/12" cruciforms as appropriate. If you have any specific packaging needs then let me know and I will see what I can do.

GRADING
I have lived my entire musical life by the Record Collector Magazine (RC) grading system and will continue to do so. All items will be graded by that standard but I will go for the nearest applicable Discogs category in the listing too. Where I list an RC grading, it will be in the form of Sleeve/Media.

I never grade anything Mint unless it is factory sealed (and neither should anybody else) and I am a highly critical grader so any defects/quirks will be stated.

Records - if I have play-tested a vinyl record then I will state that that is the case, if not then it will be a comprehensive visual grading. For higher value records (that are not sealed) get in touch and I can record and forward a sample audio rip of the record.

CDs/DVDs - 90% of those released after 1998 I will have ripped once to digital, stored and recently test-ripped once more prior to listing. CDs will not necessarily be play-tested (unless stated) but they have all been test-ripped via EAC to ensure that there are no read errors. If you want a log of the rip then get in touch.

Cassettes - All have been play-graded all the way through. On cassingles where the program is repeated on both sides, only one side may have been played. Any imperfections will be listed.

VHS - I only have a few VHS tapes for sale and the number of VCRs I have access to is zero so I am not able to play-test any of the VHS for sale. The best I can tell you is that they were well looked after, played sparingly and there was certainly nothing wrong with them the last time they were used.

Generic standard/slimline jewel cases, DVD/VHS cases or cassette cases will not be considered for the purposes of sleeve grading. They are very easily and cheaply replaced. Practically, this means that a release that was originally issued in a generic case will be received in the same, and it will not be "wrecked", but it may exhibit shelf wear, rubbing/abrasions, small cracks, etc. At worst it will be completely serviceable but cosmetically scruffy. At best it will be shop fresh! Every other single element of the packaging will be considered and graded such as booklets, inlays, inserts, etc.

Please note that non-generic cases (Fatbox multi-CD, Digipak, Card Sleeve, Box set, Z-case, etc.) or cases with release-specific features (such as stickers, etching, etc.) will always be graded.

If you want pictures of any of my items for sale then please let me know and I will take some and share online through Dropbox. This is highly recommended for anything less than NM if you want to know specifically what condition the item is in.
