Edited 4 months agoNever heard the old/original pressings, but as it's Pink Floyd (officially), they should sound really great.
But about this pressing: it sounds really great!
Everything that comes out of the grooves is how I expect vinyl and the music to sound. And yes, also silent, clean and centred.
I learned to appreciate this album through the years.. and yeah, right now more than ever... As it's more relevant than back then. Now i really understand how good it is, despite the hypocracy of Mr. Waters having a kind of regime in the band here that he would be mocking if it wasn't his own.
Anyhow, real amazing sound. Thanks again Bernie -

I was 23 yrs old the year this album came out - living in a 2 room apt in a one horse town in Southern Illinois. I being so upset that Rick was absent - band politics must be just crazy, especially after so many years together ... anyway I have always totally enjoyed this album, especially with headphones, and I personally like that they added "When The Tigers Broke Free"- that is such a great song; it seems to have been lost to non-Floyd fans - just floating around in the movie all these years - now it has a home and fits perfectly on Side 1 of this new remastered edition. Floyd Collector since 1974 ... so glad I found this site to help me catalog my collection and I like reading comments from other Floyologists from all around the world. Be safe, be kind, stay healthy & Shine On...

Out of all the Pink Floyd Grundman remastered releases I've bought, this is the only one that needed a good clean straight out of the seal - surface was visibly dirty with specs of 'stuff'.
Other than that, it is yet another fine release - not my favourite Floyd record, but a good quality remaster nevertheless. -

Actually very good release, i can't blame this release for nothing so if you want this release, go for it

The album pressing is outstanding and comes in a good quality anti-static inner sleeve. Very little surface noise. Unfortunately the remastering of this album has seriously compressed the production. Playing it after playing an original copy, it just sounded flat and lifeless. If you get the choice, go for an original version without hesitation.

BRILLIANT - I almost cried. SO VERY VERY VERY GOOD. Whatever they did in the REMASTERING process they nailed it. I know this album backwards but this new version is truly amazing. Sadly my copy was warped and it contained pops and crackles and a skip that is totally unacceptable in a AUD $60.00 purchase. I am seriously considering taking it back. The sound is 10/10 but I'm very disappointed by the quality of the record. I think it has been stored badly and only heaven knows why a brand new record on a high end turn table crackles and pops. And the skip - I am not putting up with a scratch/skip in a brand new recording. In comparison I have AUD $10.00 40 year old used records that are perfectly flat with NIL crackle and pop. Surely if they could do it right all those decades ago they should be able to do it now. That being said it sounds brilliant. I look forward to a new copy that is flawlessly clean and is not warped.
