Edited 3 months agoThis 2 LP 45 RPM vinyl release provides a very enjoyable and high-quality listening experience after employing some additional graphic equalization settings. There is no ear fatigue at higher volumes, bass is quite sufficient and well defined, and there is a wider and richer soundstage than previous CD and vinyl versions. Vocals and instrumental sonic clarity are also improved. Percussion and drums are crisp, dynamic, and forceful where appropriate. The vinyl itself is flat and quiet without background noise between tracks and lead-ins. The attached thick cardboard inner sleeves are prone to scratching the records but thankfully they are large enough to accommodate the insertion of rice paper and poly-lined inner sleeves.

After listenining back to back, I can safely say this pressing sounds better than my original 33RPM pressing. More dynamics, but unfortunately the higher end of the drums are still lacking in a lot of the tracks. The packaging is nice, and "Peace of Mind" is a fantastic addition.

Jist played this for 1st time in ages. Where is the bass? The cover, for anyone wondering is a take on old box sets of 78rpm shellac records.

This pressing is overall actually pretty impressive, though the drums are almost completely buried in the mix of some songs. Not sure how that happened as it doesn't seem that way when listening to the album on streaming or CD. The dynamics and spacing of the instruments are otherwise very good. Packaging is quality as well, though I'm not a fan of the longer jacket and a lyric or photo booklet would have been nice since this is a "limited" anniversary edition. Regardless, I'd recommend anyone who's a fan of this album to pick this up if they find it at or near the original price (anything over that is probably an overpay, imo).

Edited 3 years agoSo glad I found this for somewhat reasonable cost at the Killers store, just arrived yesterday, $50 with shipping. As for the pressing, it's ok but after research, sounds like it's as good as it's going to get.

Despite the "meh" audio quality reviews, I've been wanting this release as this is my favorite Killers album hand's down. Ordered a few days ago directly from The Killers store (June 2021) after finding a link on Google despite no longer being listed as an available product. I got word that it indeed shipped and have tracking, so they may still have a few copies in stock if anyone is looking to not buy secondhand or marked up rates. I'll update once I have it in hand if all is as expected.

Presentation is really nice (aside from the elongated jacket, which is a bit annoying) and tastefully done, but the audio quality leaves a bit to be desired and sounds kind of flat to my ears. Still a good release overall.

Edited 5 years agoCame here specifically to comment on "meh" sound quality and saw others confirmed my assessment. Blessed with a high-quality system, I can easily hear production/mixing quality on albums, and this one just doesn't have it. No doubt -- it's better than the picture disc -- but if you're expecting this "Remaster" to be as earphoric as something like a MoFi release, don't get your hopes (or expectations) up.

Going to have to concur with some reviews below that this isn't the best quality pressing, which is surprising because the other Bong Load releases I have are great. I also don't like the packaging, it aims for fancy but comes off as just extraneous (and too long). Still - it's not terrible. The sound is nice enough, just not fantastic.

Bought this directly from Bong Load Europe - couldn't be more pleased. This version is as good as the picture disc is awful (which it most definitely is)
