Beautiful drums, great synths, an incredible number of layers of vocals that canonically melt and harmonize with each other, very personal lyrics that feel very real and authentic at all times, but the lyrics are never too personal, they remain so superficial that everyone, in a way can make a personal connection with their own experiences and without ever becoming too intimate. The album flows very well, amazingly good sequencing and pacing of the album and the songs. Kevin Parker mixes the most diverse styles and sounds from all possible genres, throws them together and creates something completely new, which at the same time always has the property of being suitable for the charts. Each song has a very unusual and unpredictable song structure which definitely increases the replayability and is very engaging and captivating, especially for the first few listens. It's really exciting and with every song you want to know how it develops until it finally reaches its climax. Every chorus feels really epochal and epic and has instant catchy quality. Even if Kevin Parker experiments a lot with sounds and creates an undefinable sound, the album feels very coherent and consistent and has a clearly recognizable sound that runs through all songs. For me one of the most quintessential albums of our time and definitely an album that will be looked back on even in a few decades.

Packaging is disappointing though. Comes in a cheap cardboard sleeve that badly scratched my CD. One of my CD players woudln't even read the first few songs even on the first listen. Definitely recommend picking up the vinyl instead.
