I really liked this album and I was very surprised I hadn't heard of this group before. Taking a lot of inspiration from Run-DMC, but adding a nice spin with the rhythm and flow of each song gives this a unique flavor I think anybody who's a fan of 80s hip-hop will enjoy.

Their 'first album cover. One of my favorites. We made this photo in Hempstead, Long Island on a freezing cold night in '86 in the basement of their Spectrum City Studio
I made photo with direction by Chuck D, based on a sketch he made. Rick Rubin suggested we make it look as rough as possible. I used film we picked up in the local supermarket. Very often groups would have an idea or two or a title for me to work with, then together we would finalize an idea as i visualized it and thought to make it the best it could be
This image depicts the group surrounding the party's DJ and taking over - bum rushing the show, and all of Hip Hop at the time. Chuck also designed the original logo of the B-Boy in the cross hairs and the stencil type face for the name. Chuck studied graphic design in college. Working with them during this time, I knew they were going to be something special'...
