Simply the most important album ever made. There will never be another; all are on fire but Chuck especially, who flows, twists and turns around the beats; typical structures are decimated, new ideas generated at breakneck pace. Incredible

For me this is an epitome of rap. Conscious and powerful. The production by Bomb Squad is unparalleled and, due to sampling restrictions that were introduced a couple of years after, will probably remain so in the future. Layer upon layer of samples create a soundscape of sonic concrete upon which the voice of Chuck D towers vigorously.
However, I'd really love to hear a carefully remastered edition, which wouldn't have to be much louder, but just punchier.

I was shocked to find that no one has left a comment on this tremendous record! Brilliant production, stunning social commentary, the comic balance of Flava Flav to Chuck D's stinging flow = unbridled brilliance. I can't think of a record that has been sampled more, especially by the old school hard-core and rave productions circa 90'-93'and rightfully so. While many find "Nations" to be PE's finest hour, I believe this record tops that. Cheers to Chuck D, Flav, Professor Griff and the whole Shocklee Bomb Squad team for making such a great and groundbreaking record.
