Got mine new and sealed. Gave both discs a good wipe with a diskwasher brush. A & B played well. Hardly any groove or other debris noise. Sides C & D are both quite noisy. Will give them a good wash in an ultrasonic and see how that works out. Otherwise, great sounding album.
-
Bought mine brand new and the instrumentals and vocals sound amazing, but I’m disappointed the A/B disc pops in softer parts of the songs. The other disc is perfectly fine and had no extra noise. I assume I got a bad press or had something in the grooves I can’t see, not sure if this is a common problem.
-
Annoying tearing sound on the left channel all through side 1. Mastering is the best I’ve heard for this album.

Edited 3 years agoSound is phenomenal, yes, but it's prone to static as hell, couldn't get it and pieces of lint or dust or something. This makes it 4.5/5, but some pops just get annoying, when it slowly crescendos, and they are more audible than ever. For that reason, I round it down to 4/5.

Edited 4 years agoLovely pressing! Dead-quiet vinyl and top master. You can't go wrong here. 5*****

Edited 6 years agoGreat sound all over, but for some reason the remaster sound better from Summer And Lightning and out. I prefer the way the original sounded compared to this release. It's darker and rounder but gets too smooth at times here.

Edited 2 years agoReally awesome sound and no clicks or pops. Good pressing. Music on vinyl etching in the deadwax for me.
I made a needledrop of one of the tracks from this vinyl record - You can find it on the right side in the videos - Under the name: Electric Light Orchestra - Big Wheels (2016 European Vinyl)

Edited 6 years agoweird, my copy that is supposed to be this one has the same MOVLP383 code as the Music On Vinyl release in the etched part near the center tag, nowhere else in the copy does it make any reference to the Music On Vinyl release. I added an image of it to this release in case someone finds it as interesting as I did.
