This is one of my favorite albums of the past couple years and is a must-have on vinyl. Tame Impala, the Australian psychedelic lo-fi band, has been making super crunchy music for a long time. Currents went in a completely different direction for them though, opting out of their lo-fi guitar sound and going mostly synth-oriented. This might sound like too abrasive of a change to stay within the same sound / genre that they are known for, but it actually fits into their catalog perfectly. Think of it as the inverse of when Daft Punk went instrumental instead of electronic. The same brilliant music just in a new and different format for them.

As with any vinyl, this sounds better than any type of digital format. I feel like a band like Tame Impala you really notice the difference though because they are so crunchy. This is a must-have for any vinyl enthusiast who keeps their collection up to date with current music.

This CD (bought new) doesn't work on any CD player I have unfortunately.
