I’m getting terrible surface noise from just the right channel.
Think I might have a poor pressing :o(

I'm not sure why I didn't bother giving the Steven Wilson mixes a chance until now, but this sounds incredible! Replacing an older copy, this just sounds so much more alive!

Unbelievable sounding remix, with clarity & 3-D spaciousness you have to hear to believe. The remix itself has subtle differences, but rescues the drums'n'bass to great effect, finally you don't just hear it as much as FEEL it. Vinyl is heavy, flat & silent.

I do not prefer Wilson remix albums(Yes, King Crimson etc). But this version is quite good. Tasty and heavy sound.
Vinyl quality is great and well pressed. I think this is better than US first prsss.

Ok, let's be honest. That remaster is pure magic. Wilson do magic. If you compare to the Rolling Stones reissue , it's not in the same league. + a complete book of information, pictures. Every band in the world, specially the legendary one should be inspired by that remaster.

I purchased this release for $17. Based on the reviews I read here on Discogs and it does not disappoint. Just a tad below my MoFi. This version sounds so fresh. Sounds like it was just released. Just goes to prove what an awesome recording the original. I also have an early press that sounds great. I would definitely recommend this pressing. Mine has the round black sticker that reads "Pressed on 180 GM Vinyl"

Holy F*** those B3 sub tones coming from that Leslie speaker on the chorus in Crosseyed Mary🤘🏼🤯 I’ve heard this record a thousand times since I was 10, I’m 55, I’ve never heard this much bottom and punch from any other version in all that time, it’s kinda like hearing it for the first time, but it’s badass so yeah I’m real good with it.
Played it against a mid 70’s blue/white Chrysalis label, only one I’ve owned for years sadly, yeah not even close, this Steven Wilson remix is on an entirely other plain, and I’m not even running an audiophile setup, vintage ‘78 Technics thru an Allen& Heath dj mixer into some old M Audio BX5 studio monitors. Martin Barre is an absolute beast of a player, he and Iommi could’ve literally switched bands early on and it still would’ve worked out for the lot.
And you get an insane 24 page full size 12x12 booklet packed with photos, interviews and articles on Tull and Aqualung?!
Granted it could use a good cleaning out of the poly sleeve before playing like any record new or used, though If you like this record at all, find one of these Clear 180gm before they’re all gone or going for an astronomical price. Aqualung is once again my favorite Tull Lp behind this pressing.

Tried to get an early 70s copy but they were either noisy or did not sound great. Streamed this online and figured i would try it - it sounds great, not sure the source material but whatever it is this sounds really good.

I think the Steven Wilson mixes are the way to go for alot of the Tull catalogue , especially for the value they represent.

Just... WoW ! This is a real audiophile release. Steve Wilson made a fabulous job, especially on drums which are clear, dynamic and groovy. Voice is giant and well placed, everytime. It's like discover a new album, a fantastic one ! Booklet is a nice value.
Just, I regret to not have a textured cover as the original.

My copy is rather warped, but like so many others I am pretty impressed by the SQ!
