Venetian Snares' output in the mid-2000s was overwhelming, both in of volume as well as with aural intensity. That didn't change with CAVALCADE OF GLEE AND DADAIST HAPPY HARDCORE POM POMS, which threw in the frantic beats and acid touches with "Donut," while the moody undercurrent of "Swindon" helps propel that track. Things calm down somewhat on "XIII's Dub" and "P" for a more contemplative pace, but "Vache" goes back to a pounding intensity. As talented as Mr. Funk is, I find it increasingly difficult to distinguish one track of his from another; Funk seems willing to just embrace the chaos (as on the 8-bit ode of "Pwntendo"), and, for the duration of an album, it's easy to let him. Even the more melodic opener of "Plunging Hornets" disappears under the harsh tones and frenetic rhythm. "Tache" keeps the arpeggiated chords and French dialogue more above the fray, while the closer "Cancel" blips its way into a frenzy.

Venetian Snares has the be the only artist within my large range of musical tastes that continually blows my mind, release after release. I am beginning to think it may eventually become near impossible for him to top himself on the next album. Cavalcade is a jam session from start to finish, with layers and layers of sound gently crafted and thrown together to blow your mind. The music is at break neck speed with beautifully intertwined melodies, and it never gets boring. The haters are going to have to think of another reason to hate his music, because it's become quite aparent that his music is indeed melodic. Aaron Funk has reinvented the wheel by making it square, convincing us that it still works, just not the way we're used to.

Cavalcade of Glee And Dadaist Happy Hardcore Pom Poms, is a non-stop journey of fast paced beats and video game sounds, weaved together to make a wonderful album. From the eerie sounds of Donut and Cancel to the swift paced songs such as Vache and Pwntendo, the listener is continuously thrown along the bumpy path of breakcore craziness. One of the harshest, most rhythmic albums that VSnares has made to date. A highly suggested piece of work.

There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that Snares could have made this album...it's enough to make your head asplode. Seriously, track after track is an aural orgasm, each with its own intricacies that rival the most complex songs out there. This has to be one of the best records in my drill collection; it's recommended listening for everyone who likes DnB.

And there's also proof that this record is good: look at the third track, Pwntendo. Indeed, this track pwns. Hail Snares!
